Summary: Authors followed the possibility of developing the implanted metastases after intubation of patients suffering from the epidermoid carcinoma laryngis. To study the biological properties of tumor tissue in cell cultures they established a cooperation with the Department of cell growth and differentiation, Institute of Physiology Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. Material was obtained from 38 patients undergoing an operation on ORL clinic ILF, Prague for histologicaly verified epidermoid carcinoma laryngis. On the basis of results submitted the authors demonstrate that an occasional mechanical impuls - loosing a small amount of tumor cells by an anesthesiological tube is not able to trigger of the complicated biological process of metastase pathogenesis and thus give rise of implanted metastases of carcinoma laryngis.
