Klin Onkol 2004; 17(4): 119-122.

Summary: Prostate, bladder, renal-cell and testicular cancer are the most frequent malignancies in urology. The problems that urologists encounter are mainly patients with metastatic renal-cell carcinoma, non-organ conřned muscle-invasive bladder cancer, hormon-refractory prostate cancer and patients with poor prognosis non-seminomatous testicular tumor. There is no consensus on the treatment of these groups of patients. It is essential to outline an approach to management by close collaboration between medical oncologists, radiotherapeutists and urologists to deřne the role of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. This review presents the urologists’ views on the issue and invites ncologists and radiologists to define specific clinical processes for systemic treatment of high-risk atients.
