The using of selected glycoproteins in the discrimination rule to the diagnostic purpose was tested in the set of 37 patients suffering from inoperable lung cancer (The sensitivity amounted to 97,3%). For the following of the efficacy of the chemotherapy in patients suffering from lung cancer it appears to be favourable the estimation of glycoproteins (a fraction precipitated with phosphowolframic acid). In the regression of the disease, there was observed their significant decrease (p<0,05), in glycoprotein electrophoresis a decrease in alpha2-fraction (p<0,05) and an increase in beta-fraction (p<0,05). In the progression of the disease, there occurred an increase in the values of glycoproteins (precipitated with phosphowolframic acid), orosomucoid and alpha1-antitrypsin and permanently high values of carcinoembryonal antigen.
