Summary:

The intraarterial infusion of Carboplatin (CBDCA) is used in regional chemotherapy of hepatic metastases under the conditions of unselective catheterisation of a. he-patica communis or tr. celiacus. So as to consider the advantage of this way of delivery in comparison with systematic administration the levels of total platinum are measured in peripheral plasma of 4-patients after 400 mg CBDCA was administered intraarterially. The basic pharmacokinetic parameters are determined subsequently. The intraarterial delivery to a. hepatica of CBDCA itself doesn't represent a great advantage, however in combination with continudus infusion of 5-fluorouracil it seemse to be an advantageous drug in situations when the choice of applicable cytostatics is limited.
