Coefficients of martality in the group of former uranium mines workers

Causes of death in 1968-1985 among the group of 4803 former uranium miners from the 10 or more year underground exposure ending were evaluated. According to the mortality rates for Czech men the SMR for miner deaths from lung tumors was 3,25, from other malignancies 0,80, from non-tumorous diseases 0,80 and from all causes of death 1,06 was found. According to the world standard population truncated for the age groups of 35-64 years the mortality rates for lung tumors 3,96, for other malignancies 1,68, for non-tumorous diseases 6,63, and for all causes of death 12,27 per 1000 miners of these age groups were calculated.
