Summary: 22 pacient with histologically proven infiltrative bladder cancer in the T2-3, NO, MO clinical stage were treated by the neoadjuvant M-VAC chemotherapy followed by the radical cystectomy or radiotherapy. Complete remision after chemotherapy alone was reached in 5 (22,7%) patients, 1 after 2 cycles and 4 after 4 cycles of chemotherapy. Partial remision after chemotherapy was reached in 9 patients (40.9%). Global objective answer to chemotherapy was shown in 14 patients (63.6%). Another 2 patients reached complete remision after radiotherapy. 8 patients (36.4%) did not show any answer to the chemotherapy. One of the complete remision patients relapsed and died due to dissemination. The other are alive 12 to 68 months (median 28 months). The chemotherapy was well tolerated, the toxicity was acceptable. The results proved the effectivity of the neoadjuvant M-VAC chemotherapy in the treatment of the infiltrative bladder cancer.
