Klin Onkol 1994; 7(6): 187-188.

The risk of transmission of the human immunodeficiency virus to recipients of screened blood transfusion exists during the period between the time a donor is infected and the time he or she has a positive test for HIV antibodies. Previous reports of seronegative transfusion transmitted HIV infection have been from high prevalence areas. We report two such cases from Kuwait, a low HIV prevalence area with large migratory population.
