Klin Onkol 1998; 11(5): 147-150.

Summary :  Photodynamic therapy (PDT) utilize the affinity of photosensitive substances to cancer cells for their selective destruction. The lesion is exposed to LASER-light after administration of a photosensitive drug. Light absorption induces transfer of energy causing rumor cell necrosis. The utilized equipment has either continual regimen (ArgonLASER 630 nm) or a pulse regimen (Xe-He LASER 308 nm in the conduction with modamine dye), usually with an output of 100 - 1500 mW.

PDT indications in bronchology:  early, multiple and advanced bnochogenic cancer.
