Klin Onkol 1998; 11(6): 192-197.

Abstract: This article provides an overview of paediatric brain tumours and points out the need for co-operative studies. Dramatic advances have been made in the diagnosis of childhood brain tumours towards the development of imaging and histology. Advances in the management have been however slow, due to the limitations in aggressive surgical approach and the risks associated with radiotherapy on the immature brain. The role of chemotherapy is still unclear and needs to be systematically explored.
