Klin Onkol 1997; 10(5): 135-138.

In this overview, current opinions on the importance of colorectal cancer risk factors in diet and other lifestyle-associated habits are evaluated. Diets higher in calories, animal fat, cigarette smoking and alcohol intake are discouraged. The possible synergistic effect of water and fiber may be of great preventive importance. The next part of this commentary evaluated critcally contemporary possibilities and prospects of colon cancer primoprevention. The best strategy for chemoprevention may be the administration of combinations of blocking and suppressing agents.
