Viral infections in patients with malignant diseases

It is possible to find a wide range of viral infections in patients with malignant disease and especially in patients after hematopoetic progenitor cell transplantation. These infections have significant influence on a patient´s clinical condition and they could represent a serious therapeutic task.

This article is focused mainly on Cytomegalovirus, Herpes simplex virus, Varicella zoster virus and Ebstein-Barr virus. The authors review the diagnostics, clinical manifestation, prophylaxis and the therapy of these viral diseases.
