Abstract: Monitoring of health care effectiveness is continual process which will is determined by new parametrs which appear during construction of the treatment protocol. Basic requirements which navigate futher improvement of the health care system are: safety, cost-effectiveness and patient compliance and satisfaction. Using example of protocolar treatment (ALL IC-BFM 2002) of the childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, I describe mandatory parametrs (initial characteristics of the patient and leukemia) required for patient stratification of the patients into prognostic groups. I also underline frequent problems which appear in the course of diagnosis and propose appropriate solutions. The attention is equally focused on adherence to the treatment protocol, particulary on assessment of therapeutic response and obligatory control examinations.
