Summary
Radiotherapy plays the main role in the treatment of the nasopharyngeal carcinoma. We have treated 62 patients with this carcinoma at the Institute of Radiation Oncology in the last fifteen years. Different protocols were used in different time periods, from neoadjuvant chemotherapy to concomitant chemoradiotherapy followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. The used protocol was based on phase III studies and recommendations of ASCO, ECCO conferences and NCCN. The five year survival in our group is relevant to five year survival data reported in the literature.
