Summary: Hereditary breast or ovarian cancers account for approximately 5-10% of all of these tumors diagnosed. In about half of these hereditary cases germline mutations in BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes are found. The goal of a multidisciplinary workshop of professionals who deal with the issue of hereditary caused cancer was to establish recommendation for treatment and preventive care of this high-risk population group. The results of the meeting are presented in this article.
